How the PBA works

The Power Back Alarm is a microelectronic device designed to alert the user (by way of audible sounds) to change-over when power is restored by PHCN while a power generator or inverter is in use. Every residence needs a PBA because people leave their generating sets on for long hours, consuming fuel while releasing noise and air pollution even after power has been restored .

Indicator lamps which are in use by most homes and business premises are limited by location. Thus anyone using a bulb is subjected to continuous inconvenient checks in order to know when power is restored.
But to avoid this problem, this device:

    • Produces loud buzzing initial alert sound at a range of 20ft radius for 33secs .
    • This is followed by 16 reminder beeps at 15 seconds interval.
    • Thus making a total of 4.5 minutes alert beeps.
    • It later turns off automatically after giving reminder beeps, finally displaying a sequence of lights via the LEDs. Thus the inconvenience of turning on/off the device is eliminated as the device operates automatically.
    • rated [4W, 240V]
